Malcolm Greenaway and his bride honeymooned on Block Island.  Taken with its beauty, the couple moved there permanently in 1974. A native of New London, Connecticut, Greenaway graduated from Amherst College; received a Ph.D. from Cornell University; and taught philosophy at Rutgers, Princeton, and Cornell.  His photography has been published in major magazines, including The New Yorker.  He has also been featured on "CBS Sunday Morning" and A & E's "Travels with Harry."  in 1993, he opened his own gallery on Block Island, which sells prints to collectors around the world.
